T-Boz Addresses “Waterfalls” Remake

T-Boz talks about the “Waterfalls remake" and address the family of Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes about replacing Left Eye’s verse with Japanese artist Amuro.
T-Boz  did a recent interview with Yahoo Music and admits that the real reason Left-Eye’s vocals were taken off the track is because they couldn’t secure the rights to them.
T-Boz tells,
“We don’t own the master recording rights to Lisa’s raps on any of our music, and our requests to gain the rights so far have been denied.”
“With the Japanese anniversary edition, we were forced to use creative ways to honor Lisa’s memory and celebrate this milestone with our fans.”
T-Boz also refutes claims that Lefteye’s family was left in the dark about the new recording telling Yahoo,
“Our management spoke to Ron Lopes (Lisa’s brother) prior to the record being released to let him know that Namie would be performing to ‘Lisa’s’ lyrics,”.
“We have and always will protect our sister’s legacy as TLC consists of the three of us collectively. Although we have and will collaborate with other artists, there will never be a replacement for Lisa or any members in TLC.”
Wow, hopefully this issue can be resolved quickly.

Jesse Jackson Agrees to HELP Paula Deen

Rev. Jesse Jackson has thrown his hat into the Paula Deen Scandal of 2013 by agreeing to help the pastry mogul.
Check it out after the break!
Civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson has agreed to help celebrity chef Paula Butter Loving Deen. Rev. Jackson is going to help Paula make amends for her past use of a racial slur, saying she shouldn’t become a “sacrificial lamb” over the issue of racial intolerance.
paula-deen-racist-comments-freddy-o
Jackson told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Paula called him this week, and they discussed how she might recover.
Jackson says if Paula Deen is willing to acknowledge mistakes and make changes, “she should be reclaimed rather than destroyed.”
Jackson says he’s more troubled by racial disparities in jobs, lending, health care, business opportunities and the criminal justice system.
Her admission of using the slur first came in a lawsuit deposition. It later cost her an endorsement deal with Smithfield Foods and her job with the Food Network.
Jesse Jackson like Stacey Dash must need some press shine. We really not mad at him; SHINE is SHINE. Sigh….
What do you think about Rev. Jesse Jackson joining in the Paula Deen fray?

New Reality Show by @Oxygen: “Preachers of L.A.”

Oxygen has revealed its newest project “Preachers of L.A.” now it seems like ATLANTA would have been the perfect playground for a reality show based on ministers but the trailer has us all gasping for air.
Check it out after the break!

WOW, I don’t know what to think after watching the supertrailer of Oxygen’s new reality show slated for Fall 2014. We see 4 brothers living the good life. They are all wealthy, full of swagg, got women (including wives, ex-wives, girlfriends, and baby mamas) and some street element. Oh did we mention they are all ministers. JESUS WEPT!
Is Oxygen getting ready to showcase some of our favorite ministers as RATCHETS?
According to the press release,
“Preachers of L.A.” will give viewers a candid and revealing look at six boldly different and world renowned mega-pastors in Southern California, who are willing to share diverse aspects of their lives, from their work in the community and with their parishioners to the very large and sometimes provocative lives they lead away from the pulpit.”
Will this be a classy example of how ministers live or will it be like our favorite ratchet shows. Who know’s but we can’t wait to see it unfold.
Round of applause Oxygen for giving us at FreddyO a little LIFE!
Here are the cast bios:
Bishop Noel Jones (@BishopNoelJones)
A Jamaican born into poverty, Bishop Noel Jones has made his way to the other extreme, now living on a hilltop with a view of the Pacific Ocean, Malibu at his feet, and across the street from the former home of the late L.A. Lakers owner, Jerry Buss. The pastor of a church full of celebrities, and the brother of Grace Jones, Bishop Jones is headed towards retirement and looking for a successor who he can entrust his life’s work. But finding the right man is harder than it sound. Rumor on the street is that the home girl Lisa Raye will appear as the Bishop’s love interest.
Deitrick Haddon
The son of a bishop and an evangelist, Deitrick was preaching at the age of eleven and conducting the church choir at thirteen. At twenty-three he married the woman he was expected to marry – the lead soprano of the church choir. However, everything didn’t continue as perfectly as the church had hoped. Deitrick and his wife got a divorce and the members of the church shunned him. Aside from the call on his life, the one thing that helped him from hitting rock bottom was his music. A dynamic personality, singer, songwriter, and preacher, Deitrick finds himself at an impasse in life. Which road will he choose?
Bishop Clarence McClendon
Bishop Clarence McClendon appears throughout the world on his weekly international broadcast, which is available in 250 million homes worldwide. This charismatic and ubiquitous bishop has been noted for his contemporary and relevant approach to the Gospel. He believes the Gospel is not only for the down and out but for the up and out. His ministry spans from skid row to the estates of Bel Air. When challenged about what many have called his prosperity Gospel, Bishop replies, “there is no other kind of Gospel.”
Pastor Wayne Chaney
At the age of twenty he got the call from God and has grown to become a prominent pastor of the church his grandfather built. Fast-forward 10 years later, Antioch is the leading church in its community. With an ability to communicate complex truths in a simple way, Pastor Chaney has helped remarkably grow the church, along with the help of his secret weapon, his wife, gospel artist Myeshia Chaney. While Antioch is poised to become the next mega-church with the ability to reach millions worldwide, there’s an obstacle in the way and it comes from within Pastor Wayne’s own family.
Bishop Ron Gibson
Born in Compton, addicted to drugs before he was a teenager, a leader of the Crips by the time he was sixteen, a robber and a pimp, Bishop Ron Gibson was the least likely person to end up a preacher. He now changes the lives of 4,500 people each week at the Life Church of God in Christ, which he started with only nine people in the congregation. Through it all he’s accumulated great wealth, power and purpose. However, there’s one thing he and his wife would give it all away for – a child.
Pastor Jay Haizlip (@jayhaizlip)
One of the pioneering greats of competitive skateboarding, Pastor Jay Haizlip, originally from Gadsden, Alabama, collected big trophies, bigger paychecks and high-end sponsors, but fell deep into drugs, and into the crack houses of Huntington Beach and Long Beach, California. Back in the crack houses again, this time he’s not there for drugs – he’s helping rescue souls for the Kingdom. Serving as Senior Pastor of The Sanctuary of Huntington Beach, Pastor Jay Haizlip reaches out to troubled youth, finding them in prisons, skate parks and the same crack houses he once shot dope in.

The Brooklyn Nets to Acquire Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Jason Terry in Blockbuster Trade with the Boston Celtics

The Brooklyn Nets are preparing to give the Miami Heat a run for their money next season.
hello-brooklyn
Hellooooooo Brooklyn!

The Brooklyn Nets have already signed veteran player Jason Kidd as the new head coach.  Jason Kidd barely announced his retirement after 18 years in the league when he landed the head coaching job in Brooklyn.  He has no prior experience coaching, but he still managed to earn the spot.
kidd-jason-coach
In a huge move to rebuild and shake up the Boston Celtics organization, they brokered a deal for Doc Rivers to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for a first round draft pick.  They announced yesterday the move to send Jason Terry, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett to the Brooklyn Nets.  This trade, once final, will leave Rajan Rondo all alone in Beantown, probably wondering about his own fate.

The Celtics are rebuilding and the Nets are using their deep pockets to make a run for the Finals next season.  Their first round draft pick Mason Plumlee from Duke University wasn’t a bad addition either.  He will definitely complement the starter Brook Lopez.

We’ll just have to wait and see what happens in Brooklyn next year.
Will they give Miami a run for the title?  Or will it take a few years for Jason Kidd to get into a groove with his newly acquired roster of talent?

Video: Kanye West out with Mother In Law, Tells the Paparazzi ‘Don’t Talk to Me!”

Kanye West was spotted hanging out with his mother in law Kris Jenner at the movies and he had some pretty interesting words for the paparazzi.
Check it out!
Kanye West was spotted yesterday hanging out with mom in law Kris Jenner.
Our first question is why does Kanye have on a jacket in the summer time? Guess he get’s cold at the movie theater. The two were spotted entering the theater by an X17 Online cameraman. The cameraman being the hustler that this industry dictates quickly approached the new father and grandmother with a CONGRATS.
Kanye, quickly snapped with,
“DON’T SAY ANYTHING TO ME, DON’T TALK TO ME.”
Kris Jenner tries to tell the cameraman to leave it alone but hey we all LIVE for these shots of Kanye acting a MONKEY.
A new baby can’t help a funky disposition I suppose.
Check out the video below:

LOL, WHY IS HE SO ANGRY?
A new baby and great album sales should be the light in his angry angry tower.

It"s Okay To Wig Out Sometimes

Hello my beauties I hope all is well with each of you. Today we'll be talking about wigs and how they can be a quick and easy change to your look. Just as the people at Maybeline say "maybe she's born with it" wigs should look real. You shouldn't look like your wearing a wig, that's how natural it should look. People often look crazy with the wrong choices in wigs, just like hair styles a wig has to fit your head and you facial shape to look right. Here are some examples of good and bad wig choices:

So as you can see there are many many choices when it comes to wigs. Although some are good and some are bad if you take your time and spend enough your wigs can last you a long time. So my beauties the next time you want a new look just for a day try to wigging out.

Remembering Bobby "Blue" Bland

There ain’t but a few left. The Post-War generation of great blues musicians, the men and women who brought a rural music into the American city and then to the world is slipping away, Now we’ve lost singer Bobby “Blue” Bland, a contemporary of such masters as Junior Parker, Johnny Ace, Rosco Gordon and the last surviving member of the Memphis blues cadre, the magisterial B.B. King. Bland’s artistry may be difficult for a contemporary generation to fully grasp. There was plenty of grit in his voice — plenty. But he could also be smooth, adapting a pop sophistication that made sense to an earlier generation that had grown up on Sinatra and Nat King Cole and the rash of hit-making vocalists that crowded the airwaves after 1945. Bland’s was a brilliant example of artistic assimilation, taking the best from the blues, R&B, gospel and the pop mainstream to form a vocal style that was unmistakably his own.
If younger listeners aren’t as familiar with Bland himself, they undoubtedly know his music from the cover versions that rock artists made familiar. Eric Clapton can’t seem to hit a stage without playing “Farther Up the Road,” and the Grateful Dead made “Turn On Your Love Light” into a jam epic favorite. The Band took on the beautiful ballad, “Share Your Love With Me” (as did Aretha Franklin), and a host of other artists — including Van Morrison and Traffic —brought Bland classics to a new audience.
“Farther Up the Road” — That’s Bland to the right of Elvis
Still, there’s nothing like hearing the man himself bring magic to such signature late 1950s and early 60′s performances as “Little Boy Blue,” “I’ll Take Care Of You,” “I Pity the Fool,” “That’s the Way Love Is” and “Ain’t Nothing You Can Do.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, but anyone who treasures  American music can honor him in a very personal way. Find the Bland classic of your choice, crank up the volume and let that imperishable sound send chills down your spine. Blues singing of that caliber may never be heard again.

Family Of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes Upset Over “Waterfalls” Remake

Nickelodeon's 12th Annual Kids Choice Awards
The family of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes is upset about the decision to leave the late singer out of a remix to TLC’s hit “Waterfalls.”

TLC’s surviving members Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozanda “Chilli” Thomas celebrated the group’s20th anniversary, by teaming up with Japanese artist Namie Amuro to rework “Waterfalls,” replacing “Left Eye’s” lyrics with Amuro’s.
tlc-20th-anniversary-remake-of-waterfalls-freddy-o
The song is part of a 20th anniversary album released in Japan. The unfortunate thing is that the Lopes family did not know that Left-Eye would be left out of the remix that celebrates 20 years of TLC. Reigndrop Lopes, tells TMZ that she didn’t know about the song “until a fan posted it online.”
The family apparently had no idea the song was being recorded.  She says,
“I mean it would have been nice if they would have given us a heads up  before being surprised.”
Reigndrop Lopes also said her mother was “hurt” by the decision, suggesting  the group isn’t honoring her daughter’s memory.
“Waterfall” remains one of the group’s most popular songs, largely because of  her rap.

Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes died in a car crash while working on a documentary  project in Honduras in 2002.
Some of Left Eye’s lyrics from the rap in “Waterfall”  were said to be engraved on her casket when she died.
What do you think about the remake?

olivia-pope-judy-smith-paula-deen-freddy-o
Paula Deen has hired D.C. crisis firm Smith & Co. you all know her as the real Olivia Pope & Associates. Paula ’s management team reached out to Smith & Co. after the N-WORD hit the fan and the butter mogul faced backlash and loss of sponsorship.

Paula Deen’s management team decided they need some real help and have reached out to Judy Smith’s Smith & Co.
Smith & Co. CEO Judy Smith,  declined to comment to ABC News.
We see Judy Smith’s hands in the sudden interview with Paula Deen and Matt Lauer on the ‘Today Show’. Paula looked reserved but during the course of the 13 minute interview she broke into tears and shared that she is not a racist. Paula cited she only used the N-Word once and that was after being held at gunpoint.
Paula Deen has a lot to cry about. She has lost her gig with Smithfield Foods and The Food Network. Recently dropped by Caesars Entertainment, which has four Paula Deen-branded restaurants in its properties. QVC has not announced their plans for the Buttery Mogul who has turned sour.
Smith & Co. will likely try to focus attention on the business partners that have stuck by Ms. Deen so far, including Novo Nordisk, maker of the diabetes treatment Victoza; Springer Mountain Chicken; Landies Candies; and Tasty Blend Foods.
“Tasty Blend Foods was very pleased with the Paula Deen interview given this morning on the Today Show,” Tasty Blend said in a statement Wednesday.
“We appreciate her commitment and how she stepped up and apologized to her viewers, fans and the nation. We personally endorse Paula Deen and what she stands for. We are very saddened that she is being judged by her past, everyone has made a mistake sometime in their lives. We look forward to our continued partnership with her.”
Landies Candies President Larry Szrama also issued a letter of support. He wrote in a letter,
“Your interview this morning reaffirms who you really are and what you believe. We count it a privilege to be your friend and business partner and look forward to sweet success in the future.”
A Random House spokesman said Monday that it is monitoring the situation but remains on course to publish “Paula Deen’s New Testament: 250 Favorite Recipes, All Lightened Up” this fall.
Ms. Deen also has a line of food, cookware and other products sold at national retailers across the country, including Walmart, Kmart and Target. It is not yet clear whether the retail giants will continue to sell the products.
We predict Olivia Pope we mean Judy Smith will have Paula Deen back on top in no time.

Breaking News: Supreme Court STRIKES Down DOMA and PAVES way for Gay Marriage in California

Supreme-Court-strikes-down-DOMA-freddy-o
Supreme Court strikes down Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which will pave a way for gay marriage to resume in California.
Check it out after the break!
In a 5-4 ruling, the United States Supreme Court justices strike down the Defense of Marriage Act, saying it is unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday struck down the 1996 law blocking federal recognition of gay marriage, and it allowed gay marriage to resume in California by declining to decide a separate case.
The court invalidated the Defense of Marriage Act, which denied federal benefits to gay couples who are legally married in their states, including Social Security survivor benefits, immigration rights and family leave.
Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the majority in a 5-4 decision,  said that the act wrote inequality into federal law and violated the Fifth Amendment’s protection of equal liberty. He wrote,
“DOMA’s principal effect is to identify a subset of state-sanctioned marriages and make them unequal,”
Edith Windsor, the 84-year-old woman who brought the case against DOMA, said that the ruling ensured that the federal government could no longer discriminate against the marriages of gays and lesbians.
“Children born today will grow up in a world without DOMA, and those same children who happen to be gay will be free to love and get married,”
In the second case, the court said that it could not rule on a challenge to Proposition 8, a ban on gay marriage in California passed by voters there in 2008, because supporters of the ban lacked the legal standing to appeal a lower court’s decision against it.
A great day in justice for the LGBT community.

New England Patriots Tight End Aaron Hernandez Arrested

hernandez-arrested-dropped-from-patriots-freddy-o
Today is looking like a bad day for New England Patriots’ tight End Aaron Hernandez; he was taken into custody for the killing of Odin Lloyd a Boston semi-pro football player and released by the Patriots two hours later.
Check it out!
Patriots’ Aaron Hernandez has been arrested and taken into custody by police, for investigation of the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, who was found shot execution-style about a half-mile from Hernandez’s home.
Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-pro football player for the Boston Bandits, was found slain June 17. Officials ruled the death a homicide but did not say how Lloyd died.
Lloyd’s relatives said he was dating the sister of Hernandez’s fiancee, that the two men were friends and that the men were out together on the last night of Lloyd’s life.
It’s unclear why Hernandez was taken into custody Wednesday before 9 a.m. and put into the back of a police cruiser. He was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt, with his arms inside the shirt and behind his back as he was led from his North Attleborough home. He casually spit into some bushes on his way to the car.
Hernandez was arrested on a state police warrant at about 8:45 a.m. and was being booked at the North Attleborough police station, state police said on the agency’s Twitter account. State police said they won’t discuss the charge against Hernandez until it’s presented in Attleboro District Court later Wednesday.

J.R. Smith is a Free Agent

Washington Wizards v New York Knicks
J.R. Smith decided not to play the last season of his contract at $2.9 million dollars because he had a breakout year this season.
Check it out after the break!
J.R. Smith, 27, earned the NBA’s Sixth Man Award after averaging 18.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He played an integral role in the Knicks’ regular-season success but struggled  in the playoffs, making just 33 percent of his field goals.  The Knicks can opt to retain the relationship with Smith and offer him a salary beginning at $5 million per year.
But, another team with more salary cap room may be willing to offer more.  We’ll have to wait and see.

VIDEO: An EMOTIONAL Paula Deen on the ‘Today Show’

paula-deen-racist-comments-freddy-o
After SKIPPING the Today Show last Friday, Paula Deen appeared in the studio Wednesday morning in an exclusive interview with Matt Lauer.
The interview started off very calm and reserved but throughout the course she became an emotional wreck ending with the following quote,
“I is what I is and I’m not changing.”

Paula Deen started off defending herself by saying,
“I believe that every creature on this earth — every one of God’s creatures — was created equal,” she said. She also insisted she’s not racist and that there have been “some very hurtful lies said about me.”
Matt Lauer attempts to keep Paula Deen on course as it relates to the business aspect of her cooking empire. Matt asks Paula,
”Given the same circumstances, would you have fired you?”
Paula said convincingly,
“No.”
Matt Lauer asked Paula if she was a racist; she had this to say,
“No. The day I used that word was a world ago — I had a gun put to my head.”
When Matt asked her about the N-Word; she had this to say,
“I don’t know, I have asked myself that so many times. I go into my kitchens and hear what these young people are calling each other. It’s very distressing for me. I think for this problem to be worked on these young people are gonna have to take control and start showing respect for each other.”
“I know my love for people, and im not going to sit here and tell everything I’ve done for people of color. “
“I would never hurt anyone on purpose.”
She told Lauer, “I’m heartbroken. I’ve had to hold friends in my arms while they’ve sobbed because they know what has been said about me. It’s not true.”
In closing Paula had this to say,
“I is what I is and I’m not changing.”
“If there’s anyone out there that has never said something that they wish they could take back, please pick up that stone and throw it so hard at my head that it kills me.”
“Please. I want to meet you. “
Deen appeared extremely distressed at times, but was also adamant about her personal views and ethics.
What do you think about the interview?

Confidence is Key

Hello my beauties today I'll be talking about the most important aspect of beauty and that is self confidence. Beauty begins in the mind with the perception we have of ourselves. We all have things about ourselves that we would like to change if we could but we also all have things about ourselves that we love. We are all made in a special way for a reason. No products can change who you are, they are only here to help us age gracefully. Once you learn how to love yourself, treat yourself with respect and kindness, you'll be a better person. You'll treat others better because you'll want to share the way you feel. Its a win win result. It takes practice like anything else but once you know what it feels like to be treated right you won't want anything less. You start by loving on yourself, take yourself on nice trips, treat yourself to nice gifts, and simply do for you what you would want your partner to do. When you treat yourself well it builds confidence in knowing what you do and don't deserve. It gives you stands of what you will accept. It also helps you spot someone who is mistreating you. Being mistreated lowers your self confidence because you feel like, "I must deserve to be treated like this because everyone mistreats me,". This is because we surround ourselves with people who confirm how we feel about ourselves. That's why loving yourself is so important. Your beauty comes from within but you must be the first person to see it, the outside is only a bonus. So remember my beauties love you and people will follow your lead.
